10-year-old boy dead after three-vehicle crash in Lincoln

The Ontario Provincial Police say a 10-year-old boy from Beamsville was pronounced dead in hospital after a three-vehicle collision on the QEW in Lincoln.
Emergency services responded to a vehicle collision around 5:30 p.m. on the QEW, eastbound near Tufford Rd.
Police say a grey vehicle was approaching slowing or stopped traffic and crashed into the rear of a white vehicle in the left lane.
This collision resulted in a chain reaction as the white vehicle was pushed forward into another white vehicle directly ahead of it.

As a result of the crash, a 10-year-old boy was extricated by emergency services from the first white vehicle and was taken to a trauma centre where he was pronounced deceased around 9 p.m.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 31-year-old woman from Mississauga was not injured and remained at the scene.
The driver and additional passenger of the second vehicle, a 44-year old woman and a 10-year boy from Beamsville, along with the driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a 37-year-old woman and 10-year-old girl both from Milton, were all taken to hospital with minor injuries.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says they are investigating the crash, noting roads were dry and was visibility clear.
