1 teen dead, 2 in hospital after multi-vehicle crash on Hamilton’s Linc
One teen has died and two other people are in serious condition following a multi-vehicle crash on Hamilton’s Lincoln Alexander Parkway Friday afternoon.
The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Linc near Upper Gage Avenue overpass.
Witnesses reported that two or three vehicles were racing eastbound on the Parkway when two of the vehicles collided and lost control.
One vehicle was able to regain control but a Toyota SUV left the road and rolled a few times. According to police one or more occupants were ejected from the Toyota.
Three occupants of the Toyota were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
One of the injured parties, a 15-year-old male from Hamilton, was pronounced dead soon after at the hospital.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was called in and a stretch of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway was closed for several hours following the investigation.
Investigators are still seeking the identity of any other vehicles or persons involved.
