Bo Levi Mitchell signs 3-year deal with Hamilton Tiger-Cats

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have reached a three-year deal with two-time Grey Cup champion and quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats head coach Orlondo Steinauer says that Mitchell’s record of achievements in the Canadian Football League (CFL) makes him a proven champion.

“Throughout the process, it became clear that Bo, both as a person and as a player, would be an excellent fit for our organization,” Steinauer said.

Mitchell is the CFL’s active leader with 32,541 passing yards.

The 32-year-old is a Katy, Texas native and a two-time Grey Cup Champion, winning the title in 2014 and 2018.

Mitchell has played in the CFL since 2012. Competing for the Calgary Stampeders, he dressed in all 18 games, including nine starts, for the team last season.

The quarterback played 165 games, including 117 starts, over 10 seasons with the Stampeders.

Mitchell is a product of Eastern Washington University and was recognized as the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2016 and 2018.

“This is an excellent organization that goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone has what they need to be successful and I have the utmost faith in Coach O, his staff and all the elite players on the roster,” Mitchell said. “I am excited and honoured for the opportunity to help deliver a championship to the incredible fans in Hamilton.”
