Around 100 emergency services across Ontario may have been impacted by a potential cybersecurity incident.
As a result, a paramedic services’ third-party platform used to record patient data run by ESO has been taken offline.
The Hamilton Paramedic Service and Haldimand County EMS has confirmed they have been affected by the incident.
The service interruption does not affect response to 911 emergency calls.
ESO says unauthorized access to the platform was flagged by security monitors on Nov. 14, and customers were notified that same day.
The platform was taken offline for a full forensic investigation conducted by a third party.
ESO is working with appropriate authorities and cybersecurity experts to resolve the matter.
