Adoptable Pets: Hamilton-Burlington SPCA introduces Croissant the cat

First Published:

Heather Ashcroft of the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA joined us this morning with Croissant the cat.

She is around three months old and Ashcroft says she is fitting in very well at Hamilton-Burlington SPCA.

Ashcroft says if a family wants to adopt a kitten, it is important to slowly introduce children to the idea of caring for a kitten.

“Anytime you want to bring an animal into a new situation, you want to make sure their stress level is as low as possible,” said Ashcroft. “Try to keep them in one room, have short visits, make sure the animal looks comfortable and if it is retreating to hide, give it some more time.”

To adopt Croissant, people can email Hamilton-Burlington SPCA or fill out a physical application form to arrange the adoption.

Today is the day for the “Betty White Challenge” all over the world. It is in honour of the late actress Betty White. It encourages people to donate to local animal shelters.

White was a fierce advocate for animals her whole life, and even had a show called “The Pet Set’ which featured her celebrity friends and their pets.
