A woman wanted in a string of alleged thefts in Hamilton was arrested in Toronto

First Published:

Police say Melanie Beskorowany was wanted for crimes including breaking into gym lockers, stealing phones, credit cards, ID’s, car keys and even cars. Bank records and surveillance footage show a woman who appears to be Beskorowany spending thousands of dollars on stolen cards.

Angela Morelli was one of the victims. She’s 8 months pregnant and had her Goodlife gym locker broken into as while as her car was stolen. Beskorowany was also wanted by Toronto police who say she was stealing wallets and cars from two hospitals.

She was arrested and charged on May 5th. According to a criminal lawyer, if Beskorowany chooses to plead *guilty* the Toronto courts could deal with all of the charges, even those here in Hamilton. If she says she didn’t commit the crimes they will have to go to trail in both jurisdictions.

Hamilton police are aware of the arrest but said they were not available to comment.
