White outs in Fort Erie

In Fort Erie Monday afternoon, snow whipped up by strong winds made driving treacherous at times. Driving on the rural roads is dicey.  South of Buffalo, conditions are even worse. Trucks were banned from the Thruway at 3:00 in the afternoon. At 8pm tonight, the Thruway between Buffalo and Pennsylvania was shut down completely because of lake effect snow and dangerous driving conditions.  Fort Erie white outs are a possibility throughout the evening.
