Walton Invitational

The 7th annual Mark Walton Invitational basketball tournament is underway at Hamilton’s Cathedral High School. The tournament is named for coaching legend Mark Walton who coached the Cathedral Gaels to 3 provincial championships. He also won one as a player.
The Gaels in white faced West Humber from Etobicoke in their opening round game. And despite 17 points from Mohamed Gaafer, Cathedral would lose 56-50.
St. Thomas More, Sir Allan MacNab and Bishop Ryan all lost their opening games. The championship final goes at 2:15 Saturday afternoon with London Beal and Windsor Catholic Central.
