HAPPENING NOW:

February had the biggest monthly increase in consumer prices in more than 20 years.
Inflation rose 0.7 percentage points to 1.2 per cent in February – a bigger increase than economists had expected. Core inflation also rose sharply to 1.4 percent when 1 per cent was expected.
Gasoline was the biggest inflation driver, with a month-over-month increase of 8.4 per cent.
But Marvin Ryder from the DeGroote School of Business tells us the inflation news isn’t as bad as some would suspect.
