Fatal crash on 401

A 25-year-old woman is dead following a fatal crash overnight on the eastbound collector lanes of the 401.

OPP say a car collided with an SUV just before 3:30 a.m. near Pearson International Airport.

The SUV was flipped onto its roof while the car had heavy damage to the rear of the driver’s side.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and it’s unclear at this time which vehicle the woman was in.

Police expect to have the vehicles removed and the eastbound collector lanes re-opened by 7:30 a.m.

This is the 31st person to die this month on OPP patrolled roads.
