Highway 6 fatal crash

A portion of Highway 6 near Waterdown is now open following a serious crash this afternoon.

It happened just after 12:00 pm on Highway 6 near Carlisle road. A transport truck was travelling northbound on Highway 6 approaching the intersection of Carlisle Rd. while a SUV was travelling westbound on Carlisle entering Highway 6 when the two vehicles collided.

3 people in the SUV were all transported to hospital with serious injuries . The driver of the SUV, a 87 year old women from Guelph died in hospital, the other 2 occupants remain in serious condition. The driver of the transport truck was not injured.
