Hwy 403 reopens after crash

The 403 has since re-opened but it caused traffic chaos for drivers trying to head home at the end of the long weekend.  The crash happened around 4 o’clock Monday afternoon west of Sunnyridge Road near Jerseyville. Traffic was stopped and diverted at Highway 52.

The highway reopened around 5pm, but cars were at a standstill outside of Ancaster leading up to the crash site near Brantford. It’s unclear if anyone was seriously hurt in the single vehicle rollover, but police say luckily no one was killed in the crash.

For families on their way home from the cottage or any vacation spot, it was a nightmare. One young man handed out water with his dad to other drivers who were waiting in the backup.

The OPP are investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact them.
