HAPPENING NOW:

Children born on schedule fare better

Much research has been done on the long term health effects linked to premature birth. but now, a new study finds children born *late* may face problems as well.

Researchers in the Netherlands followed over 5,000 babies for three years after their birth.

They found both pre-term and children born at least two weeks late had more behavioral and emotional problems than their peers.

In fact, post-term children were more than twice as likely to have clinically diagnosed ADHD.

Researchers have not yet found out why post-term children face these issues.
