Empowerment Squared in Hamilton helps newcomer kids with English

Kids have been out of school for two weeks, but the learning at Empowerment Squared is still teaching, newcomer kids of all ages and abilities.

They get involved in sports and recreation activities as well as creative arts.

Coming up in August the charity will run its intensive literacy program something advocates say is needed in this province as support for children who are new to Canada is limited.

In studio Leo Johnson the founder of empowerment squared and a literacy specialist Pat Cameron came in and gave details of what Empowerment Squared is all about.
