Boil-Water Advisory in Milton lifted

A boil-water advisory has been lifted from more than 20,000 homes in Milton by Halton Region’s Medical Officer of Health.
Lab results confirmed that the water was safe to drink and free from contamination.
Residents and businesses in the affected area are still advised to take precautions before using their water.

• Run cold faucets for at least a minute.
• Remove and clean all screens and aerators on taps.
• Run drinking water fountains for a minimum of one minute.
• Run all water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
• Drain and refill hot water heaters set below 45 degrees celsius. Normal setting is 60 degrees celsius.
• Drain and flush all ice-making machines and soda fountain machines.
