Signs of alzheimer’s ignored
A lot of Canadians dismiss early signs of dementia as just a normal part of aging and wait too long before having the symptoms checked out.
An online survey of caregivers by the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada found nearly half said their loved ones had lived at least a year with symptoms of the disease or another form of dementia before seeing a doctor.
The report finds that delay resulted in a big treatment gap.
