Ontario reported 1,072 cases of COVID-19 and 41 deaths on Wednesday.
The results come as the province completed 52,504 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were done, is 2.5 per cent.
Another 1,709 cases of the virus have been marked as resolved.
The province says 13,486 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Tuesday. As of 8 p.m. a total of 412,119 doses have been given.
There are 125,725 people in Ontario who have received both required vaccine doses and are fully vaccinated.
The province says there are 228 confirmed cases of the U.K. variant of the virus and three confirmed cases of the South African variant.
There are 948 patients in hospital with COVID-19, including 313 in ICU and 226 of them on ventilators.
