Ontario reports 1,969 COVID-19 cases and 36 deaths

Ontario reported 1,969 cases of COVID-19 and 36 deaths on Monday, but the province says the daily case count is an overestimation.

The health ministry says additional records were reported for Toronto, as public health migrates to the provincial data system.

The province completed 30,359 tests. The reported positivity rate, which take into account the date tests were performed  in 5.2 per cent.

Ontario is reporting 1,969 cases of #COVID19 and nearly 30,400 tests completed. Locally, there are 886 new cases in Toronto, 330 in Peel and 128 in York Region.

As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, 341,900 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered.

• 153 total cases
• 142 resolved cases
• 12 active cases
• 1 death

As of 8 p.m. Sunday, the province has given a total of 341,900 COVID-19 vaccine doses. There were 2,256 doses given on Sunday.

A total of 70,293 people are fully vaccinated, meaning they received both required shots.

Another 2,132 cases of the virus have been marked as resolved.

There are 1,158 patients in hospital with the virus across the province, including 354 in intensive care. Of those, 260 are on ventilators.

The death toll is 6,224 people.
