Drug investigation leads to arrest in St. Catharines

Niagara police arrested and charged two people as the result of a three month long investigation by the Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit and the Opioid  Unit.

Police say that began investigating the sale of drugs from a Leawood Court home in St. Catharines back in March.

During the investigation, they identified a suspect and observed him making suspected drug deals from his car.

On Wednesday police arrested the man on Glenridge Ave.

As a result, officers searched the home on Leawood Court and seized almost $3,000 worth of cocaine and $6,715 in cash.

Police charged 39-year-old Ricardo Boswell and 32-year-old Sydonnie Byfield of St. Catharines with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

They were released on a promise to appear.
