But Maria Hayes tells us what initially sounds like a high-tech gimmick, could in fact be a life-saving tool.

This initial pilot project follows 20-teenaged patients for 3-months.
Dr Joseph Cafazzo and his team then plan to conduct a random clinical trial over the course of a year, to see if the application does what it’s supposed to do; encourage kids to regularly monitor their levels; and make any necessary adjustments to improve their health.
