Temporary closure coming to the Welland Canal bridge Wednesday

The Welland Canal bridge will be temporarily closed on Wednesday as crews complete maintenance work.

The closure will block all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as the work on the Carlton St. bridge is completed.

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation says it will work to minimize any inconvenience to the public as the preventative maintenance is performed.

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to avoid the area during the time of the scheduled closure.
