Hamilton is under a winter weather travel advisory ahead of a “burst of heavy wet snow” this afternoon.
Environment Canada released the weather advisory shortly after 12 p.m.
The agency says a sharp cold front will move through southern Ontario, bringing a burst of heavy wet snow. Wind along the front may gust as high as 70 km/h.

The combination of snow and strong winds may create a period of challenging driving conditions.
Local snowfall can possibly amount to one or two centimetres.
Additionally, sudden drop in temperature in the wake of the cold front could cause roads, sidewalks and parking lots to become slippery.
