Niagara police seek public’s help in finding robbery suspect

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect following a robbery incident in Thorold.

Niagara police responded to a robbery at Subway, located at 8 Clairmont St. in Thorold on Dec. 17, shortly after 10 a.m.

Investigators determined a lone male suspect had entered the store and passed a note to an employee alleging he had a gun, before demanding money from the cash register.

Officers say the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The employee did not sustain any physical injuries and no gun was ever seen.

The suspect is described as a 40 to 50-year-old man, white, six-foot and 180 lbs.

He was last seen wearing a black face mask, dark blue hooded sweatshirt and grey pants.
