Halton police seek suspect after dog, owner struck by a vehicle

Halton police are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspect involved in a hit and run incident in Oakville.

Officers say the victim and his dog were struck by a vehicle around 5 p.m. on Dec. 21 after crossing the street at Taunton Rd. and Oak Park Blvd. in Oakville.

The owner of the dog suffered injuries that were treated in hospital.

The dog was also injured and fled from the scene who has since been found and returned to its owner.

Police say the suspect was driving a white SUV and described as a 35 to 45-year-old man with an unshaven beard.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the collision or have dashcam footage of the hit and run between 5 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 21.
