16-year-old boy stabbed on St. Catharines bus

Niagara police say a 16-year-old boy was stabbed Wednesday night after a 31-year-old man stole the victim’s phone on a bus.

Officers say the victim was seated on a bus when the suspect attempted to steal his phone. The victim tried to retrieve his phone back and that’s when the suspect pulled out the knife to stab him.

Paramedics brought the victim to a trauma centre for treatment, where he is currently in stable condition.

Thirty-one-year-old Brandon Tracy fled the scene but was later caught and has now been charged with aggravated assault.

Tracey is being held in custody waiting to appear in a St. Catharines courthouse today.
