Hamilton police say a man was arrested after threatening people with a machete at Lime Ridge Mall Thursday afternoon.

A video posted to Facebook shows officers surrounding the man shortly after 12 p.m. and eventually being arrested.

Authorities tell CHCH News that the man arrived at the mall with a machete and was threatening customers. He then began to destroy property.

Police say the 44-year-old man is facing dangerous weapons charges.

Fortunately, no one was hurt and only the food court in the mall had to be evacuated.
