The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating after a woman was seriously injured in a crash in Pelham Thursday morning.

Niagara police tell CHCH News the single-vehicle collision happened shortly after 7 a.m. on Balfour Rd. near Tice Rd.

First responders extracted the woman from a vehicle and an Ornge air ambulance then transported her to an out-of-town trauma centre.

Officers say the intersection will be closed for an extended period of time as police investigate.
