OPP open investigation into death in Simcoe

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a death in Simcoe.

On Sunday, Aug. 21, at around 4:50 a.m., police were called to assist paramedics at a Colborne Street South, Simcoe, Norfolk County address.

Police say a 51-year-old man was located unresponsive and was subsequently transported to hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced deceased.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the cause of death. Police say there is no threat to public safety.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

The investigation is continuing.
