Tim Hortons is reintroducing an option for guests to order beverages in their own reusable cups starting Wednesday.
Guests who bring their own cups will also receive a 10 cent discount.
The initiative was created in efforts to reduce the use of single-use cups.
Tim Hortons started the program in 2019. Senior Director of Innovation and Sustainability Paul Yang says they served nearly 15 million hot beverages in reusable cups.
The program was paused in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This time around, guests will also be able to order cold beverages in their reusable cups.
Tim Hortons says guests must bring clean cups in good condition. Guests ordering in drive-thru lanes must have a lid for their cup.
Select restaurants are also in the process of bringing back in-house dishware to serve guests with.
