Ontario gov’t announces post-secondary funds for Niagara-area institutions

The Ontario government has announced funding for two post-secondary institutions in the Niagara area.

The province is allocating $76 million towards 3,586 new seats at Brock University and Niagara College.

The extra spots will focus on what the province says are high-demand fields, including STEM, health, trades and education, with some seats available as early as this autumn.

Brock University will receive 2,565 new seats, and Niagara College will get another 1,021.

The government says the funds are part of Ontario’s broader $1.7 billion investment to create over 70,000 new post-secondary seats across the province.
