Hamilton police seek witnesses of early August homicide

Police are appealing to two people who were at the scene of a homicide in Hamilton in early August to come forward.

Zenin Roussel, 21, was stabbed Aug. 9 in the area of Main Street West and Frid Street and soon after died in hospital from his injuries.

At around 2:25 a.m., a dark-coloured, four-door SUV — possibly a Hyundai, say police — stopped in the area where Roussel was found.

Investigators believe a man exited the driver’s side of the vehicle and attempted to help Roussel, while a woman remained inside.

Police say the actions of these individuals may provide valuable information to the ongoing investigation and are urging them to contact the authorities.

On Aug. 11, Kyle Dumont-McArthur, 26, of Hamilton was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the homicide.
