Hamilton Hammers sign forward Max Ellis to one-year AHL contract

Forward Max Ellis has signed a one-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract with the Hamilton Hammers, the team announced on Tuesday.

Ellis, 26, was born in Plymouth, Michigan and spent the 2025-26 season in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with HK Sochi and Shanghai Dragons.

He played in a total of 52 games, scoring 16 goals and 14 assists for 30 points with the clubs.

Ellis skated in 25 games with Jukurit of Finland’s Liiga, scoring eight goals and 10 assists for 18 points in the 2024-25 season.

Before playing overseas, he appeared in 87 AHL games with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL, scoring 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points.

During his time in the NCAA Division I, the forward played three seasons at the University of Notre Dame, where he scored 22 goals and 23 assists for 45 points in 71 games.
