Hamiltonians took full advantage of the weekend weather

First Published:

Finally some blue skies with just a few passing clouds, and warm weather to match. Gage Park had families enjoying picnics and partaking in one of mild weather’s most favoured pastimes, dining al-fresco.

Even watermelon made an appearance at Gage Park, a telltale sign summer is coming. People, young and old, were out basking in the sun riding bikes, going for a stroll, and some just sitting and taking it all in. Kids seemed especially happy Sunday with many itching to get outside after the damp, rainy spring.

With this gorgeous weather, many people are taking the opportunity this long weekend to head to the greenhouse and get started on their gardens. James Pepetone is the greenhouse manager at Terra Garden Centre in Hamilton and says people are coming in droves to get their hands on bright and vibrant plants after a long stretch of grey.

Over at Bayfront Park, many people were excited to get their boats in the water for the first time this year.
