HAPPENING NOW:

Cherry Lane makes the most of a difficult harvest season

Cherry Lane Farm spans 400 acres of cherries, peaches, and pears. But this season, unseasonably poor weather kept the bees from doing their job, leaving the cherry trees largely unpollinated.

As a result, the farm is facing just 5% of its typical cherry harvest.

Rather than closing up shop for the season, the team has shifted its focus to producing cherry concentrate and expanding its retail offerings with a couple of new products.

Emily Vukovic visited Cherry Lane Farm to learn about the challenges of this difficult growing season and how the family-run farm is adapting in the face of a devastating crop loss.
