A wildfire in the Northwest Territories has forced the evacuation of the remote village of Fort Simpson.
Its 1,300 hundred residents have been told to head to Yellowknife as the Dehcho fire burns about seven kilometres from the Fort Simpson airport.
Wildfire officials say the blaze has not made a significant push toward the community.
Fire crews report that airtankers and helicopters are attacking the fire as dangerous conditions have kept ground teams out.
The evacuation comes just days after three people died when an aircraft fighting the same fire crashed.
