Communities across Canada celebrate National Indigenous People’s Day

Sunday is National Indigenous Peoples’ Day honouring the culture and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Metis people. Celebrations across Canada are marking the day. Including in Brantford where they were educating and celebrating. It’s a day of celebrations to include summer solstice, the first day of summer. One community member told us many Indigenous people might have had a sunrise ceremony this morning or a pow wow but most importantly they say, it’s a day to be seen and heard.
