Brampton man charged after an attack at Brock University last month

A 20-year-old Brampton man has been charged with assault and robbery following a stabbing at Brock University.

On March 21, around 8 p.m. police were called to the university for reports of a shooting. Three Brock students in their 20’s were found near a residence, two had non-life threatening stab wounds. The third was injured after a struggle with the suspects.  Police say two male suspects confronted the Brock students with a knife and a pellet gun on the campus.

Abdul Zaman has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.  He is scheduled to appear in a St. Catharines court on April 17.

Police say the investigation continues and are still searching for a second male suspect.
