Hamilton launching six-month Sunday parking enforcement pilot

For the first time, Sunday parking rules in Hamilton will be enforced. The city is rolling out a six-month pilot aimed at making streets safer and parking fairer.

City staff told CHCH News that municipal parking meters, which display their own hours of operation, are not changing as part of the pilot.

Residents and visitors are required to pay for parking during posted hours, and outside of those hours, including Sundays, on-street parking is free.

The pilot focuses specifically on enforcement to help keep sidewalks, bike lanes and streets clear for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
