VIDEO: The hits to Canada’s auto sector don’t appear to slow down. On Thursday, General Motors says it is set to cut its third shift at its Oshawa Assembly Plant, putting hundreds of workers at the facility out of a job. It was last May when GM announced it was planning to axe some employees. The motor company confirmed that roughly 500 workers will be laid off and severance packages are available. The latest job cuts in auto manufacturing remain a key response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war and auto protection in the U.S.
