Police seek four suspects in distraction theft at Fortinos in west Hamilton

Hamilton police are looking for four people suspected of working together to distract an older woman at a supermarket last month and stealing her wallet.

Officers say at around 3 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2025, at the Fortinos Supermarket at 1579 Main St. West, four people had worked together to take the woman’s wallet from her purse along with her PIN.

The suspects then allegedly used the woman’s debit and credit cards to make $750 in purchases and to withdraw around $3,500 in cash.

Investigators are asking for community help identifying these four suspects:

An older man who was seen wearing a dark winter coat, a dark flat cap, glasses, dark pants and shoes, and red gloves.

One person who was wearing a navy-blue Nike jacket, a black-knit toque, a light-coloured scarf and dark pants.

Another man who was seen wearing a dark jacket with a light-coloured hood, a grey knight toque with a logo on it and was seen carrying a red bottle.

A fourth person who was wearing a light-coloured winter jacket, a fur-lined hat and a scarf, who was pushing a shopping cart during the theft.
