One dead after collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga

One person has died after a collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga.

Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the eastbound collectors’ lanes on Highway 401 near Dixie Road in Mississauga around 6:10 a.m. Thursday.

A 32-year-old woman from Ottawa was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

All eastbound collectors’ lanes on Highway 401 were closed for an investigation Thursday morning, but they have since reopened.

Police say their investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage is asked to contact investigators at 1-888-310-1122.
