Emergency crews were on scene at an overnight fire at The Bean Bar in Hamilton’s Westdale neighbourhood around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Video captured by CHCH shows multiple fire trucks responding to the scene, as smoke billowed out of the front entrance of the restaurant.
Hamilton police closed a portion of King Street West in front of the plaza while firefighters worked to put out the blaze.
Officials say the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction. No injuries were reported, and damages are estimated to exceed $350,000.
Neighbouring units were relatively unscathed, receiving only minor smoke damages.
