SIU wraps up investigation into central Hamilton crash

Ontario’s police watchdog has wrapped up its investigation into a car crash in central Hamilton last July that seriously injured a 34-year-old man.

The crash happened on July 23 as a suspect was fleeing from police in a stolen car.

The Special Investigations Unit was notified of the incident and began their investigation.

The SIU determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that an officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the collision and the man’s injury.
