Travelers are being advised not to be alarmed if they see emergency vehicles at Hamilton International Airport this morning. Officials say there’s a planned full-scale emergency response exercise planned for 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
There will be no impact on regular operations at the airport, and passenger services will continue as normal.
In a statement, the airport says the safety event is to “ensure regulatory compliance and evaluated emergency preparedness.”
“Ensuring the safety and security of everyone who visits and works at Hamilton International is our top priority,” said Ed Ratuski, Hamilton International Airport’s managing director.
“These exercises are a regulatory requirement and provide an opportunity to evaluate and refine out response protocols, train our people, and strengthen the partnerships that are critical in any emergency response.”
