Man in hospital after suspected targeted shooting in Grimsby, suspect at large

Niagara police are on the hunt for a man following a suspected targeted shooting in Grimsby last night that sent another man to hospital with serious injuries.

The shooting took place around 7:45 p.m. on South Service Road near Kelson Road North close to the Stoney Creek border.

Hamilton police assisted with an initial K-9 search of the area. Currently the parking lot at Andrew Peller Winery is taped off for the Niagara police investigation.

The suspect was last seen running southbound on Kelson Road North from South Service Road.

He is described as having a slim build and was wearing black slim-fit track pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, dark coloured shoes, white socks and was carrying a blue reusable shopping bag.

Police believe that there is “no ongoing risk to pubic safety.”
