The City of Brantford will add the names of 23 veterans to the Brant War Memorial, ensuring their service and sacrifice are formally recognized.

The work follows a comprehensive community consultation and review period in late 2024, confirming the addition of 22 names from the Second World War (1939-1945) and one name from the First World War (1914-1918).

City staff were approached by the owners of Ingham Monuments in Brantford, who offered to complete the inscription work on the monument as a donation.

The engraving work is scheduled for today and Tuesday.

The City says this year’s Remembrance Day service will include an official unveiling and remarks to honour the veterans and pay tribute to their lasting legacy.

More information is expected in the coming weeks.
