Guns confiscated, more charges laid in West Lincoln armed lockdown

Additional charges have been laid against a West Lincoln man who was in an armed lockdown with Niagara police on Sept. 8, with authorities confiscating a large number of firearms.

Detectives conducted a search warrant at a West Lincoln residence the following day and seized 18 improperly stored firearms and additional ammunition.

As a result of the investigation Christopher Morley, 38, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Careless use of Firearm – Used in a Careless Manner
  • Careless use of Firearm – Contravention of storage regulations (two counts)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm knowing it is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition.

Morley remains in custody and is scheduled to attend a video bail hearing today at a St. Catharines courthouse.
