An early morning watermain break in Hamilton’s east end has flooded multiple streets and basements.
The affected area is on Dunn Avenue near Nikola Tesla Boulevard.
Hamilton police say that the flooding started around 2:30 a.m. and neighbours in the area tell CHCH that some basements are worse than others.
It’s unclear where the watermain broke and crew members from the City of Hamilton on the scene say it should be turned off around 8 a.m.
Police have closed Woodward Avenue and Eastport Drive off of the QEW due to the nearby flooded streets.
This is a developing story — more to come.
