Hamilton police suspend member after ‘disturbing’ social media posts

Hamilton police say they’ve suspended a 23-year member after a series of “troubling” social media posts containing prejudicial content were found online.

Officers say the posts were brought to their attention by a media outlet.

According to police, the member has been suspended with pay and an internal investigation is underway.

If the investigation determines the member’s conduct breached the Hamilton Police Service standards, police say “appropriate disciplinary action” will be taken.
