Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne dies aged 76

CHCH News Anchor Matt Ingram spoke with Music Expert Eric Alper on the death of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osborne.

Ozzy’s passing has many who knew him reflecting on their encounters with the legendary frontman, including former rock radio DJ Joey Vendetta from Toronto’s Q107, who interviewed Osborne a few times and met his wife Sharon too.

“I thought it was kinda fitting that he got to do the last show and kinda go out on his own terms and say goodbye to everybody,” Vendetta says.

Ozzy Osborne, the frontman for heavy metal group Black Sabbath has passed away at the age of 76.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the Osborne family said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.

His death comes just weeks after he reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for a final show.

Osbourne was also well known for the multi-season reality TV show that bore his family’s name.

No cause of death has been released but the singer was battling Parkinson’s disease.
